Life Underwriter

Investigates and collects necessary data before granting or declining an application for life insurance. Makes sure the applicant meets the standards of the insurance company by evaluating the risks factors, both at home and at work, and involves himself on the individual seeking for life insurance. Determines pricing based on the different risks and to communicate either verbally or in written form to various people.

Specific Tasks:

Reviewing and evaluating information relating to medical history, physical condition, occupation, and other pertinent data to underwrite individual life insurance policies.
Deciding on whether to accept or deny coverage. Communicates with field offices to obtain information necessary to make underwriting decisions.
